OVERHEAD WIRE CONSTRUCTION REQUIRES SUNDAY LANE CLOSURE

Road closure on HWY 90 W at Frontier Drive to improve electric reliability on the west side of

San Antonio

August 4, 2023 (SAN ANTONIO) – CPS Energy is working to improve the quality and safety of aging transmission lines in the west side of the city on Highway 90 West at Frontier Drive.

The Highway 90 West at Frontier Drive project includes CPS Energy crews and contractor crews removing old wires that cross Highway 90 West. CPS Energy will then install new overhead wires on both sides of the highway. The work will take place on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 5:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CPS Energy customers who will be impacted from the work have been contacted.

CPS Energy contractor crews will be working on both sides of the highway resulting in lane closures. Law officers will provide traffic control throughout the duration of the closure. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes and avoid the areas, if possible. CPS Energy reminds drivers to Move Over or Slow Down, per State law, for crew and driver safety.
